“DSLR Basics Class (for Parents)” Coming Soon! | Austin Child and Family Photographer

Hey, parents!  Wanted to get you excited about an opportunity coming up in the next couple of months.  So many of you love photography yourself and own a DSLR camera but want to know how to take better pictures and are a little bit baffled by all the settings your camera offers.  This is the class for you!  This will be a beginning class with topics on lighting, technical DSLR basics, bringing out the best in your kids for photos, and more!  There will also be great prizes.

Some of you may be lost already.  “What’s a DSLR?” “Do I own one?” Here’s a brief rundown.  DSLR stands for Digital Single Lens Reflex.  This refers to how the camera actually functions.  What that means to you is, you look through the actual lens via the viewfinder, not the screen on the back of the camera.  DSLR cameras record your photos on memory cards, not film, and they have lenses that can be removed and interchanged.  If you own one, it may look something like this:

This is different from a point-and-shoot camera which is pictured below:

This will be fun, laid-back class which will in turn help you capture better photos of your own kiddos!
