A few weeks ago as we were driving along 183, some purple blooms caught my eye in a brushy field off the side of the road. Now, if you’re from here, you know, we are in a MAJOR drought. All plants are dead and brown. I just knew this was a perfect opportunity for a little color in otherwise drab photos this time of year. Little did I know I was going to need to take a short hike to get to them (through likely snake-infested brush; thankfully I didn’t see any!) but it was SO worth it. There was huge patch of purple brilliance in the midst of a drab, lifeless field. The flowers were several feet tall and as best as I can tell from researching online they were Texas Bluebells or some other similar variation (any botanists out there, feel free to correct me!).
So, Friday night I met up with two families with beautiful girls to play in the flowers!
And Saturday morning I met up with the A family for some guy time chasing after three busy boys! We skipped the flowers and went straight to a spot where they could run and jump and well … be boys! They were super sweet and we had a blast.
