As most of you know, it’s hot here in Texas.  As in, CRAZY hot.  It was 106 degrees today which ties the record.  Yay (can you sense the sarcasm?).  It’s supposed to be 109 tomorrow.  Gotta say, I’m a little tired of all this hot weather, being pregnant and all.   But, on to the exciting stuff!

Today we got out early (when it was only 90 degrees) to take this family’s pics.  We’ve been waiting all summer to schedule this sweet pea’s session because her mama wanted her sitting and we DID it!  She did awesome.  Take a look.

I am just so tickled about this photo shoot last night!  We recently met a family and are just starting to get acquainted, but they are truly something that we aspire to one day for our family.  It was such a neat God moment on the day we met because as soon as I told her I was a photographer, she told me that she had been praying that very day for a photographer to do their family photos!

We met up at their friend’s lakehouse for our pictures and the grounds were gorgeous!  Enjoy, D family.  Thanks for being a blessing.

Ok, so I’m torn which to put first …. pics of beautiful people or a great deal?! Well, you can always bank on me putting up pics but it’s rare I offer session deals, so let’s do that first!!!

As I mentioned, I am pregnant with our second little bambino and due in November, so I am planning to shoot through the end of October.  I will then be off for the rest of 2011.  What does this mean for you??  You will need to book Christmas card photos PRIOR to November.  SO… I am offering a sweet deal to anyone who books a full session in August, September, or October: book your fall session before Sunday, August 7th and receive $50 off!!  Contact me at amy@twelvestonesphotography.com to schedule now!

Now, onto even more good stuff! First, some maternity pics I took of a gorgeous friend of mine who is pregnant with her first sweet little baby!  She’s glowing. 🙂

And secondly, I had the fabulous opportunity to take some photos of a model winner for Pigtails and Crewcuts in Austin!!  This little guy was a dream and so well-behaved.  Makes my job easy!  Look for his pics in some of their marketing coming soon.  Before my son actually needed his first haircut, I walked into a kids’ salon and nearly fell over with the $17 they charge.  However, after my first visit (which my mother-in-law so graciously paid for) I realized why they charge so much – their job is HARD.  The stylists must wrangle crying and wiggling kids while blowing bubbles and singing songs … AND produce a neat and even haircut.  Yeesh.  After one visit to a “normal” salon with our son, I promptly returned to the kiddie salon the next time where he could eat a sucker and watch Toy Story while getting his haircut.  It’s worth EVERY penny.  🙂  All that to say, I’ve had his hair cut numerous times at Pigtails and Crewcuts and think they are absolutely the best.  Be looking for my work soon in both the Cedar Park and Austin locations!

A few weeks ago as we were driving along 183, some purple blooms caught my eye in a brushy field off the side of the road.  Now, if you’re from here, you know, we are in a MAJOR drought.  All plants are dead and brown.  I just knew this was a perfect opportunity for a little color in otherwise drab photos this time of year.  Little did I know I was going to need to take a short hike to get to them (through likely snake-infested brush; thankfully I didn’t see any!) but it was SO worth it.  There was huge patch of purple brilliance in the midst of a drab, lifeless field.  The flowers were several feet tall and as best as I can tell from researching online they were Texas Bluebells or some other similar variation (any botanists out there, feel free to correct me!). PINIMAGE

So, Friday night I met up with two families with beautiful girls to play in the flowers! undefinedPINIMAGEundefinedPINIMAGEundefinedPINIMAGEundefinedPINIMAGE

And Saturday morning I met up with the A family for some guy time chasing after three busy boys!  We skipped the flowers and went straight to a spot where they could run and jump and well … be boys!  They were super sweet and we had a blast.
